Foul Language

October 22, 2012 by Diniquette

The other night I was at a Michelin Star restaurant in NYC.  On this night there was a party of 8 “suits” having dinner.  Now this is a very intimate, fine dining establishment…….

After the wine and cocktails started flowing the language got VERY colorful. At one point the GM of the restaurant actually had to walk over to them and say: ” could you please not yell blow**b”.   YEP!  THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED! (Do people even yell this in a strip club?…i’m curious).

Look, there is a time and a place for everything.  Yelling about “jobs” in the middle of an intimate, fine dining establishment, is probably not the most appropriate thing to do. (I’m just sayin).  The restaurant actually lost 2 tables of 2 because the “suits” were so loud and obnoxious it was ruining their experience.

Just know your surroundings; and keep it clean.  Remember, you are not the only person in the restaurant.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Mike says:

Some restaurants have separate rooms for larger parties. Having been part of many such dinners, I ask for these rooms.
