Tasting Wine

At most restaurants, if you order a glass of wine, the server will offer you a “taste” so you can see if it’s to your liking.

This is a courtesy NOT an invitation to “taste” every glass of wine on the menu.

I had a guest who asked to “taste” 4 different glasses of wine and then asked to “re-taste” one of the 4. That sort of behavior is bad etiquette any way you look at it. Pick a wine, and commit; and if you truly don’t know what kind of wine you like, ask to speak to the Sommelier and they’ll be glad to walk you through the wine list; but don’t take advantage of the restaurants generosity. It’s tacky; (and I’m from Jersey, I know tacky).

Thanks for reading.
