Good Morning Everyone.
I want to discuss reservations and the “Why can’t we come later/earlier” questions.
There are many times that you are told that you can’t come earlier/later at your restaurant of choice. When you show up, you see that the restaurant is empty……immediately after that I have seen Guests completely lose their minds and totally ruin their experience at that restaurant.
Here’s the deal: arranging a reservation book is like putting together the most complicated jigsaw puzzle ever. It is not an easy thing to do. A table of 2 will be alloted 1 1/2 – 2 hours but a table of 8 will be alloted closer to 3 hours. So that’s one consideration. Second: the table that you are sitting at IS NOT YOURS FOR THE ENTIRE NIGHT, so if someone booked a 7:30 reservation, that means that specific table will only be open at 5:30 or 9:30….now imagine having to do that kind of scheduling for 70 tables.
So if you enter an empty restaurant after being told you couldn’t dine earlier/later, PLEASE do not take it personally and start ranting and raving like they just killed your first-born; the restaurant wants your business and would have loved to have given you your time preference, but sometimes it’s just not possible.
Thanks for reading.
