I know that sometimes my blog may seem as though I’m always pointing out the mistakes that paying guests make; however, there are many issues plaguing service professionals as well.
For example: “RIGHT OF WAY”. When a service professional is running around the restaurant doing their job, there are many times when we will literally run into various guests. Remember: Guests always have the right of way! I don’t care if you are carrying hot food, I don’t care if you are carrying a stack of dirty dishes as high as the Chrysler Building, (which you shouldn’t be doing anyway), and I don’t care what you are in the middle of doing, the Guest is always first. ALWAYS allow the guest to pass by first; ALWAYS.
This is proper service, anything else is unacceptable.
