National Ice Cream Soda Day

Hi Everyone.

According to food historians, (that’s an actual job?), the first ice cream soda was invented in Philadelphia in 1874.

Allegedly, Mr. Robert M Green added vanilla ice cream to a soda when he ran out of ice, thus creating the float by accident. According to Mr. Green it was no accident; he intentionally added the ice cream to create a new item…..either way, it’s delicious and nothing makes me happier than a root beer float….so thank you Mr. Green.

When is the last time you had an ice cream soda/float? Add it to your list of things to do this summer!

Thanks for reading.
Krista
